Functional Rehabilitation

Functional rehabilitation is rehabilitation with the goal of increasing ability in activities of daily living at home, during competitive sports, at school or work and during recreational activities. Functional rehabilitation involves exercises designed to increase function in areas of weakness with the goal of restoring proper movement patterns. By observing a faulty movement pattern, it is possible to identify muscles that may be weak and contributing, therefore making it possible to correct the muscle weakness by strengthening, stretching and re-educating the soft tissue.
